Students will be able to create a cooperative line dance by combining provided steps with moves chosen in small groups to ultimately perform for their peers. Performances should demonstrate that groups have practiced moving in sync with agreed-upon arm movements, and individual students should demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Students will be able to explain how to find heart rate by calculating their own heart rates. Students will make connections to their current math knowledge of ratios to find their heart rate in beats per minute.
Students will identify explicit evidence from the text to categorize topics within the reading passage by contributing to a group chart of life and physical science descriptions. Students will evaluate peers’ contributions respectfully to advance group understanding of the text by acknowledging others’ thoughts, drawing connections, and expressing positive support for each other.
Students will identify the function of verbs in a specific sentence by brainstorming appropriate words to complete a sentence frame and explaining why those words fit into the sentence frame.
Students will compare and contrast attributes of shapes in different categories, identifying the required characteristics of polygons and other categories of shapes and determine appropriate labels for different shapes based on shared attributes.
